2Your Independence is committed to providing high quality rehabilitation and therapy services.
All services provided are client centred and we are flexible in the way services are delivered to best meet the needs of everyone involved. Services can be provided in homes, schools, workplaces and in the community, in fact wherever they are required to meet client goals. We even offer telehealth services where appropriate.
We are committed to providing a cost effective service which is responsive to the needs of the client and are happy to discuss and negotiate a service which is tailored to your individual needs. We have a strong commitment to ensuring that all our intervention is evidence based.
We have offices located in Brisbane which provides services across South East Queensland and Northern NSW. We are willing to travel interstate for assessments.
Services are provided to persons of all ages across the life span. We are happy to work with any funding body and have been working with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) since its initial roll out in Queensland in 2017.
MEET THE TEAM
Liz Martin - Director
Liz has over 30 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist. Her Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy was conferred in 1987 following study at Cumberland College of Health Sciences (University of Sydney).
Liz is a member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists and is a Registered Occupational Therapist, a status conferred in recognition of a commitment to, and adherence to, ongoing professional development.
She has worked in a number of settings including community, state and commonwealth government organizations (9 years), and in private practice (22 years).
Liz commenced "Hawkesbury Occupational Therapy" in 2000 and later expanded this to become Your Independence in 2014. This expansion included the provision of services to South East Queensland as well as services in the greater Sydney area . Liz provides direct contracting services and also continues to subcontract to a number of other well recognized Rehabilitation Companies.
Liz has extensive skills and experience working with both adults and children with a particular interest in working with people with Traumatic Brain Injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries and with people with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has undertaken extensive post graduate studies in Sensory Integration and Handwriting Interventions.
Considerable experience has also been gained in working with, and training attendant care workers in both private and government funded care agencies. Liz has a strong emphasis on the provision of safe manual handling procedures and practices.
